Position Description:

Position Description: The Minnesota Ore Operations of the company includes two facilities that continuously mine and produce the essential raw material for the company’s steel plants. These are Union facilities and environments, so coming into the company as a Manager will be both challenging and rewarding. As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for all the maintenance activities in your assigned Division. These are front-line leadership roles positions in which you will supervise, schedule, direct and motivate Maintenance personnel for production. You will be responsible for overseeing all the maintenance programs associated with all maintenance operations. Primarily you will be responsible for applying maintenance leadership and principles, troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to evaluate and make decisions that resolve operational, production, or maintenance conditions and improve reliability. You will supervise, direct, and coordinate efforts of experienced operators, associates, technicians, craftsmen to repair and maintain equipment, to maximize operating efficiencies, and to improve reliability. You will use your leadership to effectively engage teams and promote an environment of respect, communication, and collaboration through two-way communication and encouraging new ideas and different perspectives driving individual, team, and company success. This position is in the Mobile Equipment Shop, which is responsible for the complete upkeep, service, and repair of all Mobile Equipment mining equipment, which includes large ton trucks, dozers, loaders, and all mobile support equipment for mining and production operations. The Mobile Equipment shop has 4 Maintenance Supervisors who rotate leadership responsibilities for shifts and crews. You will supervise 10-15 maintenance professionals on a rotating crew. This position is ideal for candidates with maintenance leadership experience in automotive or diesel shops or in military motor pools, mechanized divisions/units, or flightline maintenance operations.


Requirements: Candidates must have a H.S. diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience leading work crews in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment; and outstanding leadership. Candidates must have good general mechanical maintenance knowledge and ideally some experience fixing automotive/industrial equipment systems. Candidates should have the ability to demonstrate some knowledge/experience in managing Maintenance Programs (planned/preventative/emergency). This is a very industrial, blue-collar environment that requires a keen eye for safety & being comfortable “rolling your sleeves up” & leading credibly from the floor. Position Description: Mill Electrical Technician
In this role you will provide all necessary electrical, electronic and combustion-instrumentation maintenance to all areas of the Mill in a safe and efficient manner. In order to be successful in this role, you should have experience with the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and/or instrumentation equipment and systems. This position reports to the Superintendent of Maintenance. Some specific responsibilities include:
• Serve the function(s) of a Combustion-Instrumentation Technician, Electronic Repairman and/or Electrical Inspector (Maintenance Electrician) depending upon training and certification.
• Complete the RMSM training program to become skilled in all three of the crafts mentioned above.
• Troubleshoot, repair, dismantle, assemble and install a variety of equipment throughout the mill.
• Work with Electric Shop, Combustion Lab and Electronic Shop equipment and tools, mobile equipment of every kind, controls, switches, valves, ovens, furnaces, machinery, cranes, prints and drawings.
• Observe lockout procedures.
• Operate overhead cranes as needed.
