Position Description:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely with other key stakeholders, the Nuclear Systems Engineer (Core) is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and optimization of “core” (UF6 Feed, Product Withdrawal, Tails Withdrawal, Blending, Sampling, and supporting systems) systems for a commercial-scale uranium enrichment facility utilizing company technology. Responsibilities include identification and qualification of system requirements, development of alternate system design concepts (where necessary), performance and evaluation of design trade studies, selection and implementation of preferred designs, and integration and execution of the designs with other systems and the overall facility.
NOTE: This role is subject to the incumbent’s ability to hold and maintain an NRC Q-clearance, as well as their ongoing ability to maintain nuclear site access.
The candidate will perform duties such as but not limited to:
• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of key technology and business drivers, and use that understanding to drive requirements, specifications, and flow-downs for applicable systems.
• Oversee system and component integration while ensuring maximum safety, performance, and operability.
• Manage interfaces with cascade and balance of plant systems.
• Work closely with technology development teams and other system engineers to refine system requirements and interfaces, perform design and risk mitigation trade studies, and manage system configurations.

Requirements:
• Must have an active DOD Top Secret or DOD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree or greater in a mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, or other relevant discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in an engineering role.
• Strong technical acumen.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
