I started my career as an E-1 and went to OCS as an E-6.  As an officer, I held numerous positions at the company, battalion, brigade and division levels.  I finished my career as a senior Major.  During my career, I had the opportunity to work as both an enlisted recruiter and as an officer recruiter.  

Additionally, I commanded a recruiting force of 35 that covered most of the land area of Illinois.  I am going into a technical sales role and believe that all of the time I spent as a recruiter, as well as my time as a staff officer, prepared me well by honing my sales and negotiation skills.

Other recruiting firms seem to have little to no interest in placing field grade officers.  To me, this makes no sense.  The majority of officers who continue to serve beyond their initial service commitment eventually leave the military as field grade officers.  What an amazing and untapped market!  I am sure there are additional difficulties associated with working with more senior transitioning members, but the approach Todd Phillips took with me was spot-on and worked perfectly. 

Attending the Orion conference was the turning point in my job search.  Todd and Josh Williamson took excellent care of me throughout the hiring process and guided me towards a role where I believe I will be an excellent fit. I really appreciate everything that the team did to help me secure my new role.
