What is Orion’s Military Officer Transition Program?
Orion's Military Officer Transition Program (MOTP) is designed to put your preparation "to do list" in a logical sequence of events to be completed each month. The program is comprised of a series of informative webinars, self-paced instruction, and individual calls with your recruiter. Our goal is to minimize the stress you may have about changing careers by giving you all the tools you need to be 100% ready to interview before you enter into the 90-day window leading up the end of your time in active service.
Our MOTP provides you with a list of items that you should complete prior to beginning interviews, to ensure maximum success in your career search. You can download our Transition Checklist here. You will ideally begin working through this list well in advance of your transition.
However, we realize you may join us much later, or operational commitments may keep you from following this timeline exactly, and that is completely fine. Just pick up with the suggested activity for the month that reflects where you are in relation to your transition, and try to work back through the other months as you are able.
Ready to start our MOTP and take the first step toward your new civilian career? Download and read Military Transition Guide - Beginning Your Transition and visit our website to find a recruiter.
Once you reach the point that you are within 13 months of your transition, you will receive a monthly email from us pointing you towards the suggested reading or activity for that month. These emails will be sent based on your Earliest Start Date in our records. If your timeline changes, be sure to let us know, so we can update our records.

It is a golden opportunity to meet with several prospective employers all at once, all of them very high quality. And Orion prepares you well. I particularly liked the interview prep session during this conference. It helped me to tweak a few of my responses in a manner that paid major dividends during the interviews!"

According to Your Peers
"The Orion Distinguished Candidates Conference was an amazing experience. Orion directly matched me up with my top five companies, and I was able to interview with all of them that day. You skip through several pre-interview steps like cold calling the HR department, and you know each company is interested in learning about you. The companies are also looking to fill multiple positions, so there is a relaxed, cooperative environment with your peers.
The first day is great preparation, with company presentations and small group interview prep with the Orion team. The mixer is essential because companies get to put a face with a name the day before the interview. This ensures you walk into your interviews with a smile of recognition from the interviewer to help put you at ease. First class, first rate event; if you are on the fence, you should definitely go."- Adam Gray, Sales Representative
"I have a B.S. in Business Administration and Law, I attended two Hiring Conferences with Orion and obtained a position from the first one. The military has taught me how to apply my leadership skills and management techniques from leading soldiers in the military. Orion met my needs, 100%!" - Robert Greeson, Production Manager
"A friend and former co-worker of my told me about Orion International. I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Being in the military gave me great work ethic and the ability to learn new things quickly in pressure situation. My Orion recruiter was awesome, he listened to everything I said and helped me find a great job!" - Samantha Kunimura, Systems Engineer
