Position Details Title: Shop Service Technician Location: South Houston, TX (Deer Park) Shift: Day 7AM-5PM Compensation: tech 1 $27-$30, tech 2 -$36-$38 Benefits: Comprehensive Corporate Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, PTO, 401K). Relocation depending on experience. Sign on Bonus $5,000, first Half after 30 days of employment. Half after 6 months of employment. $100 kicker for being on call on the weekend. Position Description: Perform basic inspections, basic diagnoses, and basic repairs of heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. Works as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals. • Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures. • Assists in the rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining of equipment and components. • Learns how to plan equipment and component repairs. • Learns how to complete parts orders and identify parts for return. Requirements: • One or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience with a strong mechanic aptitude is preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Valid Driver’s license required. • Demonstrated generic mechanic aptitude and a hydronic engine mechanic background, with knowledge in diesel engines, HVAC systems, and the ability to repair machines. • Proven ability to diagnose problems, understand processing work, and ensure machines are ready for use. • Experience in maintaining fleets (e.g., in the military) or similar environments is advantageous. • General knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, with a focus on leading and innovating in the shop. • Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems. • Capability to actively participate in team meetings, assist in training apprentices, and be a hands-on leader in the job. • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, frequently moving materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. |
