Position Description
As an R&D prototype Shop Manager, you will act as the subject matter expert, coach, and leader of the Bloomfield, CT Prototype shop. This shop is part of the Electrification Smart Power division of the company.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of R&D employees as they pursue R&D targets. You will serve as a technical resource for the team and provide technical support for internal and external contacts. This is not simply a shop manager role. You will continually be expected to learn and grow yourself in support of R&D projects and company objectives.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience working in R&D, management, and/or manufacturing environment.
• Hands on working experience with Milling Machines, Lathes, Waterjet Cutting Machines, Wire EDM Machining, Press Brakes, 3D Printers, and other typical machine shop equipment. Certified Tool and Die Maker or Certified Machinist Journeyman preferred.
• High level of organization and experience with machine shop/manufacturing processes and logistics, planning, managing, and executing projects.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US.
