Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will provide daily phone support by communicating and directing end users and/or distributor technicians to a safe and sequential diagnosis of required repairs relative to field service and product installation issues. This is also a hand-on type of position where you will routinely repair various types of commercial laundry equipment. The position will advise the Technical Service Manager of issues and trends affecting the serviceability of all GNA product lines. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are essential for this position.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Customer Relations
• Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing manufacturer level technical service issues for consumers and distributor service personnel relating to product installation and service questions.
• Routinely accepts phone calls from both consumers and distributors assisting and educating them relative to appropriate corrective action regarding product service-related issues.
• Record all technical calls in a customer service module, Service Cloud.
• Assist in-house and external salespeople and consumers regarding issues related to product installation and operating requirements.
• Perform service training assistance as required both in house and at distributor locations.
• When qualified, travel to customer location to perform maintenance and/or training.

Product Improvement
• Report recurring or major service-related issues to the Technical Service Manager.
• Assist in creation and development product improvement/ technical support projects.
• Assist in creation and development of service-related videos and technical bulletins.
• Test, troubleshoot, repair, convert, and rebuild Girbau branded products as needed.

Miscellaneous
• Update GNA’s Technical Service Manager regarding the competency of individual distributors relative to service capabilities and consumer comments regarding the same.
• Assist with maintenance at GNA’s Express Laundry store.
• Assist with basic building maintenance.
• Create training material and occasionally train distributors and end users
• Strict confidentiality on all company matters.
• Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass drug screens and background checks if requested.




EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
• Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical field or equivalent work experience in a related field


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• 2+ years of field service experience in the commercial laundry industry or related field.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background, able to read electrical diagrams proficiently


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
• Solid electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic technological aptitude.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and/or wiring and editing existing diagrams.
• Solid understanding of electrical diagnostics and service of electronic and electromechanical components.
• Strong client-facing and interpersonal communication skills.
• Detail Oriented: Completes and maintains a high level of accuracy of even the smallest aspects of assigned tasks.
• Self-driven and proactive.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to accommodate and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to work independently on and complete projects in a timely manner
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
