Description
Position Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Malta NY or Northern Vermont or South Portland ME
Shift: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm + Rotating On-Call
On-call service: Guaranteed 4 hours of O/T at 5X your hourly rate
Compensation:
Base Salary: $75K–$85K
Overtime: Estimated 15% ($17K)
On-call: $75/day
Sign-on Bonus: $10K
Relocation: Included
Total First Year Compensation (W2): $92K–$97K
Year 1 Increase: 8-9%
Tech Qualification Increase: $4/hour ($8,320 base increase, impacting O/T comp)

Company Vehicle: Pickup truck for commuting (~$14K/year value, per AAA)
Travel:
Mostly local to 45-minute area where plants are located
Timecard Pay: Begins when leaving home, ends when returning (daily)

Position Description :
Ensures the safe and efficient operation of oxygen and nitrogen plants, handling mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and production challenges.
Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative, self-motivation, and availability for callouts.
Operate all aspects of the air separation plant, including routine operations, equipment maintenance, and problem-solving. The plants are usually within an hour's drive from home.
Address mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process control issues, coordinating interrelated tasks and providing technical guidance for moderately complex problems.
Trained and mentored while receiving support from supervision, lead technicians, engineers, sales, and other technical staff. Occasional travel outside the assigned area may be required.
Requirements:
Experience with all or some of the following
Air separation or similar complex process control function
Instrumentation and control
General maintenance of industrial equipment
Compressors and compressor maintenance
Industrial mechanical maintenance or Industrial electrical or electrician
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Use volt-ohm meters, calibration devices, and data collectors
Trouble shooting and diagnostics
Process understanding, process control schematic interpretation
Computers, Microsoft applications, FIX 32, and process control computer systems
Maintenance and compliance documentation
Safety commitment and compliance with procedures
Driver’s license with clean record
Organization and time management
