Department of Defense SkillBridge is a program that offers skills training and internships to transitioning service members through an Authorized SkillBridge Organization. Authorized SkillBridge organizations are companies or nonprofits whose programs have been approved by the Department of Defense because they represent an opportunity for service members to gain skills that make them more employable upon transition from the military. These opportunities last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks and take place during the last 180 days of Service while you are still receiving military compensation and benefits.
Any rank, enlisted or officer, may apply. Release for SkillBridge is always mission-dependent, and your unit Commander must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement with interested industry employment partners.
SkillBridge is an excellent opportunity as you transition to civilian life. Our HireSkills partners represent fields such as semiconductor, data centers, energy, building automation, manufacturing, and more. These companies value your expertise, dedication and service and you get the chance to enhance as you enhance your marketability and career prospects through skills training and internships. These training programs must offer a high probability of post-service employment with the provider or other employers in a field related to the opportunity.
