Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 base salary

Position Description: The primary responsibility of the Starts Coordinator is to obtain the necessary permits required to start the construction of new homes in the communities in which the division operates. The position’s primary duties are to ensure all components of the permit application packages (e.g., completed forms, floorplans, plot plans, correct payment, etc.) are present when applying for new home start permits and to provide Construction Managers with the correct floorplan/elevation plans before start. You will work to obtain city and county building permits. Understand and communicate city/county and developer permit requirements to Construction personnel and the Purchasing Department. Develop strong relationships with local government officials in building permit/inspection roles. Acquire developer approvals. Apply for sewer & water taps. Assemble complete start packages for the construction of new homes. Update and maintain new construction in software programs. Issue purchase orders for new construction homes and communities. Monitor lot start notifications and create new sales orders. Distribute pipeline and start reports weekly. Maintain open communication with all parties involved in the start process and updates on the construction stages. Update the division on new policies and assist with implementation. Attend all sales and operations meetings. Support the division in other duties as needed.

• 1 + years of homebuilding, construction permitting, or purchasing is preferred but not required.
