Position Description:
The Inventory Specialist oversees the processes for ordering, storing, receiving, and distribution of spare parts used in the life cycle support of Company propulsion equipment. Work to maintain the proper mix of inventory thru tracking and analyzing fleet size, fleet maintenance history, and developing protocols for loss mitigation.
Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits
Monitor inventory levels and reorder products as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels
Coordinate with other departments to ensure stock levels meet expected forecast
Implement and maintain bar code system
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss and maximize efficiency.
Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and work with appropriate teams to prevent future occurrences
Assist in developing inventory reports and analysis
Communicate inventory status and issues to management and other relevant stakeholders
Ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements related to inventory management
Review current inventory plan and help to create new plan to maximize warehouse usage/space
Identify stock items with shelf life, date items and track in ERP system
Create and maintain appropriate stocking plan based on fleet mix/trended usage
Handle all paperwork relating to returns, and control and adjustments in ERP system
Requirements:
8+ years of active duty military experience from a logistics, supply, or inventory management MOS/rate
Must have experience running an inventory management system.
Ability to effectively communicate company policy and procedures.
Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet daily requirements.
Understanding of bar coding systems.
