Title: Material Handler
Location: Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia
Compensation: $24/hour plus $1.50 shift differential for night shifts (6 PM - 6 AM). Annual bonus of $2,000.

Position Description:
Company is seeking skilled Material Handling Operators to join the Logistics Team at its Richmond, Georgia facility. This position focuses on the professional and efficient operation of heavy mobile equipment, supporting logistics and material handling activities within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The Material Handling Operator will perform recurring tasks such as unloading trucks, blending materials, pulling orders, and maintaining inventory integrity through precise documentation. This role also contributes to optimizing workflows for recycling raw materials in non-ferrous metallurgy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate heavy mobile equipment, including forklifts, wheel loaders (JCB 417, 415), and excavators, in a safe and orderly manner.
• Perform logistics activities such as unloading trucks, documenting material flows, and storing materials.
• Prepare and ship customer orders using computerized systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage finished goods, intermediate goods, and rework operations, ensuring proper storage and quality.
• Conduct cleaning and basic maintenance tasks for equipment and assigned work areas.
• Load and unload transport trucks, ensuring safe handling and proper placement of materials.
• Execute stock-taking activities and register material flows in IT systems.
• Comply with company health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment through routine housekeeping.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in logistics or material handling roles.
• Proficiency in operating heavy mobile equipment (forklifts, wheel loaders, excavators) with valid licensing for at least one.
• Solid understanding of material handling processes, safety practices, and environmental standards.
• Familiarity with lean/process improvement methodologies.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with business systems, email, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
• Experience with sampling or metallurgical production processes.
• Familiarity with start-up operations and presenting to stakeholders.
• APICS certification and ability to interpret prints, drawings, and layouts.
