Description

Position Details:
• Title: Field Support Engineer (Level I)
• Location: Chandler, AZ (greater Phoenix)
• Schedule: You generally will be working traditional day shift hours (8a – 5p Mon-Fri)
• Travel: You will occasionally be required (perhaps 20%) to travel to other sites (including international), primarily for training purposes (sometimes for a week at a time) or to assist at other customer facilities, but travel requirements definitely taper with time.
• Compensation: Target base rate ~$30/hr - 33/hr.
o Bonuses/Additional Compensation: Overtime is paid at 1.5X after 40 hours; Profit-Sharing (typically around 10%) paid quarterly and $3K annual car allowance.

Position Description: The primary responsibility for a Company Field Support Engineer is to perform repair and maintenance activities inside a semiconductor plant on Bright-Field, Dark-Field, Macro/Micro inspection, Thin Film, Resistivity & Surface measurement, and Optical Metrology equipment. Technical service activities include modifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of highly complex capital equipment at inside customer premises. Some other specific responsibilities include:
• Represent the company to the customer and assume accountability for customer satisfaction with service performance.
• Assure optimum quality of system equipment.
• Coordinate actions with customers to maximize production time.
• Evaluate, analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Repair some board level problems using standard procedures, oscilloscopes and volt meters.
• Repair of system level problems based on Company technical knowledge and Company training.
• Once trained, provide guidance and technical assistance to other Engineers as needed.
• Conduct customer orientation training on all aspects of equipment user applications.
• Prepare and document reports on support activity to customers.
• Provide timely billing invoice to customer for service activity.

In order to be successful in this role, you should have experience with and a significant working knowledge of Electronics / Avionics systems. The ideal candidate for this position is very “hands-on”; if you enjoy working on your car or motorcycle, if you are the go-to guy in your family to fix things around the house, then this opportunity could be the right fit for you. Hands-on electronics and electromechanical experience is preferred over textbook / theory experience for this position.
