Position Details:
• Title: Mechanical Technician
• Location: Sinton, TX
• Shift: 4 on, 4 off, Rotating Shifts (7am – 7pm, and 7pm – 7am) between weeks
• Compensation: $105k – 115k in Total Comp First Year
($21.17/hour + ~110% Weekly Production Bonus + ~20% Monthly Conversion Bonus = $47 – 49/hour), plus $10k – 12k in annual OT!)

Position Description:
• Responsible for safely maintaining and conducting preventative maintenance on all production machinery as well as facility utilities.
• The maintenance team supports plant operations while working closely with all other departments in planning future needs and/or improvements.
• This position must help drive continuous improvements in production tracking, process efficiency, and plant automation.
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements:
From a technical perspective, you must be able to demonstrate good mechanical systems troubleshooting and repair skills, as well as a strong theoretical knowledge of industrial mechanical systems. SDI is looking for candidates with strong backgrounds in hydraulics/pneumatics, gearing (Gearbox / Inspections / Parallel vs. Helical / etc.), welding, fabrication, and motor alignment // candidates do not have to have strengths in each of these industrial mechanical areas, but they do want well-rounded industrial mechanics. You must have a demonstrated history of safe work practices and the ability to work with minimal direction. Be prepared to demonstrate the ability to interpret drawings for repair, installation and maintenance of complex systems and equipment.
