Position Details:
• Title: Automation Engineer
• Location: Grand Rapids, MI (1 hour radius)
• Shift/Travel: Day shift 830 am – 5 pm
o Willingness to travel up to 30% to customer sites / headquarters in the Netherlands - will be traveling to the Netherlands for training for 1-2 weeks at a time then across the US, Canada, and Mexico but overnights outside of the Netherlands will be rare unless it’s for a commissioning project. Passport required – must have one or be able to obtain one.
• Compensation: $80,000-$120,000 depending on experience - can choose to be hourly or salary

Position Overview:
This role involves migrating the complete suite of company machines from Beckhoff/Codesys to the Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platform in collaboration with engineers from our global headquarters in the Netherlands. Additionally, the position includes programming and commissioning complete packaging lines.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Allen-Bradley PLC programming
• Strong background in industrial automation
• Proficiency in PLC programming, including:
o Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Logix Designer
o Rockwell Studio 5000
o FactoryTalk View
o Optix
• Experience with Rockwell motion control
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
• Expertise in industrial networking and Ethernet/IP
• Valid passport
• Willingness to travel up to 30% to customer sites and headquarters in the Netherlands
Preferred Qualifications (Expedited Hiring Consideration):
• Experience with Fanuc or Kuka robot programming
• Proficiency in Codesys/TwinCAT with Structured Text
• Background in packaging automation
• Strong leadership skills and ability to take initiative
