Position Description:
In the journeyman electrician role, you will perform electrical work and inspection on wiring, fixtures, outlets, and other electrical components. You will replace and repair electrical equipment and devices as required. Success in this role will be demonstrated by employing effective process controls to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficient installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Worked as a Commercial or Industrial Journeyman electrician for 2+ years.
• Worked as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician for 2+ years or a certificate in E&I technology.
• Ability to read schematics, Loop diagrams, P&ID’s, as-builts and process flow diagrams.
• Understand and able to program PLC control logic and instrumentation interfaces. Follow proper procedures for PLC loop checks and troubleshooting
• Understanding of SCADA and HMI systems
• Perform testing and calibration of instrumentation, analyzers, and control loops.
• Uses gauges and other test instruments to diagnose malfunctions and mechanic hand and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble system components.
• Manage and maintain instrument calibration documentation and CMMS database.
• Maintain computers and software packages relevant to the design, modification, installation and calibration of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of instrument application, operation and of the electrical and mechanical principles involved in repair, testing and calibration.
• Maintenance and calibration of process instrumentation devices, electrical power distribution and monitoring devices, VFD drives and motor control.
• Performs preventive and predictive maintenance including calibration, using data collectors, testing and diagnostic tools, and computerized maintenance management systems.
• Investigate equipment failures, determine root cause of failure.
• Will be required to pass written exam(s).



Qualifications:

• Work will take place in mining and production environments.
• Prolonged sitting, standing, climbing, pulling, and lifting of heavy objects.
• Must be able to lift, pull, and push at least 50 lbs.
• Employees will work on uneven surfaces with rock and other debris in the area.
• Must be able to wear required PPE, including Steele-toed boots, safety glasses, and a hard hat.
• Continuous mental and visual attention, making set-ups and operating machines, adjusting, checking work, and diagnosing breakdowns.
All applicants must have:
• Must have reasonable knowledge of electrical code and installation procedures.
• Previous experience in 2400V; 480 – 3 phase motor controls and system operation.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and programming
• Able to read electrical blueprints.
• Hold a Journeymen Electrician card preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician.
• Troubleshoot effectively with a minimum of supervision.
• Applicant is required to furnish his own hand tools.
• Experience in mining is helpful.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of safety in the electrical field.
• Capable of working with a minimum of supervision.
• All work described above to be done in an efficient and workman-like manner.
• Any knowledge of welding and fabrication is a plus but not required.
• Applicant is responsible for the housekeeping and cleanup around his work area.
• Additional duties are required as assigned by management.
