Position Details:
• Title: Mechatronics Engineer
• Location: Conroe, TX (40 miles north of downtown Houston)
• Travel/Schedule: You generally will work standard day-shift hours Mon-Fri
• Compensation: Target base salary can vary widely depending on your specific experience; ~$82K - $115K+ is a reasonable range,
o Bonuses/Additional Compensation: Relocation / sign-on bonus is available on a case-by-case basis;.
• Benefits: As essentially a “start-up” company (owned by a Private Equity firm), the US entity of the company initially can offer a full range of basic Medical / Dental / Vision insurance reimbursements, life insurance and standard PTO / Holidays. Position Description: As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will be key member of the growing engineering department, playing a pivotal role in the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of robotic systems for automotive applications. Some specific responsibilities include:
• System Design and Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and integrate mechatronic systems for automotive robotics applications.
• Mechanical and Electrical Design: Develop detailed designs and specifications for mechanical and electrical components, ensuring compatibility, performance, and reliability.
• Sensor Integration and Calibration: Implement sensor systems, including vision systems, proximity sensors, and encoders, and optimize their calibration for accurate performance in robotic applications.
• Control Systems Development: Design and implement control algorithms for robotic motion control, ensuring precision, speed, and safety in operation.
• Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of mechatronic systems, analyzing performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, test reports, and design documentation, to support development activities and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and optimization in automotive robotics.
• Maintain, both preventative and predictive, all automated systems to ensure optimal operational performance.
• Train and improve owner/operator skills to properly maintain and operate all equipment integrated with automated systems.
• Identify and drive change to ensure automation effectiveness of existing processes.
• Demonstrate an understanding of customer requirements, offer suggestions and ideas on how best to deliver automation solutions.
• Coordinate with production and facility maintenance for all planning, technical support, and contractor considerations.
• Assist and coordinate third party services and contractors with respect to maintaining, testing, optimizing, and integrating automated systems.
A B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred. You should have proven experience in mechatronic system design and integration, preferably in the automotive industry, with proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and electrical design (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle). You should also demonstrate a strong understanding of control theory and experience with control systems design and implementation. You will be expected to have hands-on experience with robotic systems, motion control, and sensor integration as well.
