Position Details:
Title: CHP (Combined Heat and Power) Senior Technician
Location: Manhattan, NY (lives in proximity to Lower Manhattan/Brooklyn, Bronx area)
Shift: Day shift. Rotating watch schedule. Estimated 2 weekends of watch.
Compensation: $90K-$100K plus up to a 20K annual bonus (paid based on quarterly performance up to 5k quarter). Relocation is available.

Travel: 10% overnight, most projects and operations will be within a commute allowing you to be at home. You really are given the freedom to run your region as if you owned this part of the company.
Position Description:
Company, Headquartered in Greenwich, CT design, construct, own and operate on-site, turnkey microgrid solutions that provide our diverse clients with significant cost savings, energy resiliency, and reduced carbon footprints. Their focused on providing full-turn-key micro-grid energy generation solutions to our customers. To effectively achieve the core objectives for the customer and the business, Company must achieve and maintain premier operations, with asset uptime targeted above 97%. Central to achieving this world-class targeted asset up-time is a competent and highly trained staff that employs knowledge of effective operation practices, power systems knowledge, and a massive amount of data /analytics to monitor sites leading to proactive prediction and resolution of problems. The staff member must be proficient with all aspects of the combined heat and power / microgrid systems, which are some combinations of natural gas-powered units, generators, and heat exchangers all precisely controlled and coupled with a micro-grid arrangement that works seamlessly with the facility and the utility.
Requirements:
• Experience operating CHP systems or power systems a must (HMI experience, system understanding)
• Strong trouble-shooter w/ 1-line diagrams. Detailed understanding of systems and interactions.
• Gas engine experience.
• In-depth mechanical experience rebuilding automotive, high-speed engines, pump, Heat exchangers.
o System checks
o Component replacement
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Execute critical maintenance events from original equipment manufacturer (OEM)
• Ability to execute an engine inspection, rebuild, replacement on schedule with a team.
• Ability to work with 3rd parties to schedule and make sure work is executed on-site
• Some knowledge of absorption chillers and electric chillers
