Position Details:
• Title: Electrical Testing Technician
• Location: Los Angeles, CA
• Shift or Travel: Flexible hours based on client/project needs
• Compensation: $35-$50/hr. based on experience and locality, plus OT

Position Description:
Troubleshoot, test, and inspect complex electrical systems, and moderately complex relay calibration and power metering. Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, including troubleshooting capabilities, simple relay calibration, use of load recording instrumentation, low and medium voltage switchgear testing through 230 kV class. Test and troubleshoot moderately complex electrical systems, simple relay systems and power metering. Will compile complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project using a computer, and accurately process job billing and may perform complex analysis and evaluative tasks necessary to complete equipment labeling projects. Comply with job proposal and requirements from a client, including estimating man-hours and expenses, and developing scope and pricing. May perform power system studies including short circuit, arc flash and protective device coordination. Additional duties and tasks may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:
• Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent and with work experience
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA
• Passed NETA (National Electrical Testing Association) exam
• Strong background and experience in all types of switchgear testing through the 15 kV class
• Understanding of electrical theory and electrical power systems
• Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally
• Strong computer skills
• Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work. Must be available for out of-town and international travel
