Title: General Manager / Plumbing Service Manager

Location: Los Angeles/San Diego, CA

Shift: M-F 8hr Day shift

Compensation: $150K +

Position Description:

The Plumbing Service Manager oversees a team of service plumbers responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings. This role involves close collaboration with service and installation technicians, dispatch staff, and other managers to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental goals. Acting as a senior representative of the company, the Plumbing Service Manager also communicates directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to provide clear updates on job and project status and requirements.

Schedule, direct, and provide technical support to technicians to meet service demands.
Interview, hire, and train technicians to align with workload requirements/company standards.
Review technicians' work to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and productivity goals; provide recommendations for improvement.
Conduct performance appraisals for technicians and set improvement objectives.
Facilitate group and individual meetings for training, evaluation, and communication; participate in departmental safety and informational meetings.
Collaborate with dispatch to ensure personnel are scheduled according to skill level/training needs.
Develop and monitor departmental budgets, goals, and objectives to ensure profitability.
Review work orders, invoices, and time reports for accuracy to maintain timely cash flow and minimize accounts receivable and ensure timely ordering of required parts to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

5 years of experience in plumbing management.
Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing trades.
Technical aptitude, including familiarity with local codes and effective problem-solving skills.
Exceptional leadership abilities to drive team productivity and maintain high work standards.
Superior verbal and written communication skills, with effective conflict resolution capabilities.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
Ability and willingness to work non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug test prior to employment.
Must be willing to submit to an MVR report – No DUIs or more than 2 points on a driving record.
