Approximately three months ago, I applied to Orion from of a recommendation made by one of my trainer officers. At the time, I had graduated college only a few months prior and was new to the business world. My expectations were very low, because common knowledge told me that if you want to get a “good career” you have to know a guy-who-knows-a-guy. What I came to find out was that Orion is that guy!
My first remarkable experience was with Melisa Tobakos, who called me the day following my application to Orion. We spent a few hours on the phone putting together a portfolio to help make me more approachable to potential employers. Melisa was extremely kind and put in a lot of work to help build a profile for me.
I informed Orion that since I was still attending training at Fort Lee, I would be unable to go through a job application process until the training was completed. The day following my graduation from training, I received a phone call from Joshua Williamson inviting me to a job conference just outside Chicago; without hesitation, I accepted the invite and found myself in Chicago three days later for a two-day conference.
Being new to the job market, I found myself at a disadvantage, as I was lacking the knowledge and experience of how to make myself a desirable candidate to the business world. The first day was spent teaching me and the other candidates all the ins-and-outs of interviews, as well, as introducing us to many of potential future employers. Joshua and Todd Phillips spared no expense in interview training for all of the candidates! Joshua took time to personally sit down with me one-on-one to give me extra guidance and practice for over an hour!
After I sat through a presentation given by my future employer (VibrAlign), I came to Todd and asked to interview with them even though they were not on my list to interview with. Todd asked me my motives and provided me with the opportunity! He then sacrificed much of his time to train and prepare me for the interview specifically for VibrAlign.
At the start of the second day, all the candidates went through interview after interview. The day after the interviews, I received the results over the phone. I was ecstatic to hear that my first choice was just as in love with me as I was with them! Over the following two weeks, I proceeded with three more interviews with my VibrAlign.
The Orion representative that acted as a third-party between me and VibrAlign fought for me as if I was his best friend! Without Mike Lampman, I would NOT have received my position! After my second interview with VibrAlign, they decided that I did not possess the experience needed to work for them. Mike called me to tell me this and said that he was not going to give up without a fight and was going to push for them to rethink their position on the matter. After that phone call, Mike called me back a few hours later telling me that he had gotten them to reconsider their position and that VibrAlign was going to fly me out to interview with me at their headquarters.
The reason I am taking my time to write all of this is because without each and every one of these REMARKABLE individuals (Todd, Joshua, Melisa, and Mike), I would not have my dream career. The people that make up the Orion team fight for us (service members) like they would if we were on the battlefield together! Their passion and heart is in helping us, and, if I did not write to tell others about this, I would be doing a disservice to my brothers and sisters in arms! If your core is a core of principles and values, give your name to Orion, and they will help you take that to the next level!
