Shift Supervisor

Northeast
US Navy, E-6

I was a First Class Petty officer with nine years as a nuclear mechanic and engineering laboratory technician when I left the military in August. I began searching for jobs at my 90-day mark. I heard about Orion International through people at work. I worked mostly with John Teague after my first conference but received a lot of good information and coaching from others at Orion. Both recruiters were eager and attentive to my questions and needs.

Most of my interaction with Orion was by phone, and I was invited to a conference via e-mail. I attended the online/phone brief for the conference and was impressed with both the interactive nature and the efficiency of the brief. The first day of the conference I signed up for five different interviews and got a lot of good preparation tips and ideas from both recruiters. I walked into the second day and managed to get seven interviews scheduled and completed. Those interviews resulted in two call-backs. Of those two call-backs, I got two offers. Long story short, I took the better offer. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Now I’ve got a Shift Supervisor job in a production plant, which is exactly the career I was looking for.

While working with Orion, I also contacted two other recruiting companies and posted my resume online with two different sites. I got a lot of generic email hits on my resume, but Orion is the only one who called me back and the only one who worked with me on my timeline. Almost everyone else wanted to wait until I was 30 days out to start setting up interviews and searching. For me the whole process went smoothly and quickly, and I can't thank everyone at Orion enough!
