Maintenance Technician
Northeast
US Navy, E-4
Not only did Orion International meet my needs, but they went above and beyond. I am an Electrician stationed in New Jersey and will be leaving the Navy August 1 to go on terminal leave. My last day in is actually September 17. I began searching for jobs about three months ago and decided to use Orion after reading about them on the internet.
My recruiter contacted me by phone about once a month until it got closer to my terminal leave. At that point, he set me up to come down to Norfolk for a hiring conference. Not only did Orion meet my needs, but they went above and beyond. On the interview preparation day (Sunday), I started to second guess myself and walked out of the briefs that were being given with the intention of leaving the hotel. Before I left, I stopped by my recruiter to tell him I was leaving. I believed that there was nothing he could say to keep me at the conference.
Well, he convinced me that in the interview it was 40 percent personality and attitude. After about 15 minutes of talking, I finally decided to go back in. The next day I had three interviews and two companies that were interested in me. I had a second interview with one of the companies, and they offered me a job where I will make a healthy salary with medical, dental, and 401k benefits. I never would have got offered a job this quick if it wasn’t for Orion.
The job that was offered to me is a Maintenance Technician. This is the type of job I wanted. I will get paid more than what I thought I would starting out, and it is located in the general area of where I'm from. I couldn’t ask for anymore.
Orion blew any other competitors out the water. Orion was friendly, understanding, and persistent. They were so good it seemed too good to be true. I highly recommend people consider getting in contact with them when they are planning to exit the military. Thanks again, Orion, for all your help!!!
