Operating Engineer
West
US Navy, E-6
I served nine years and seven months in the Navy and separated as an E-6/ First Class Petty Officer. I'm currently on terminal leave and will be officially out on November 18, 2008. I have been searching for jobs for almost three years now. I didn't officially post resumes and apply, though, until August 2008. I learned of Orion International through a friend who previously separated and used their services.
My recruiter, Jim Lewis, was excellent with helping me prepare and guiding me through the process. This was especially important because this was my first time in an interview situation. It was a great opportunity to feel like I was accepted, and the willingness to help of all the personnel that were offering there assistance was great.
I contacted Orion in August 2008 and attended one conference in September. All the preparing I did paid off. And I couldn't have done it without Orion's process for making sure their candidates are well-prepared. I got my new job at the first conference I attended at the first interview. I was hired as an Operating Engineer, and the job fits me perfectly! Orion was great in meeting my needs and answering any questions I had with no hesitation.
