Field Service Engineer

West
US Navy, E-6

I was in the US Navy for nearly 13 years and was an Electronics Technician First Class (E-6) at separation. I separated on June 22, 2008, and began my job search with Orion International in May 2008. My recruiter was Mike "Q" Truong. He was very polite and courteous with me every time we spoke. He listened to what I was looking for and found me exactly the job I was looking for.

My hiring process was very linear and painless. It started with a phone call from Mike. He took my information (location, experience, and job interests). I received a few more calls from Mike and another Orion associate where they asked some more questions and told me of some possible job openings. Next, they set me up with an interview with Leica Microsystems and gave me some pointers for good interview practices. I attended the interview and was offered the position later that day.

I found the Orion recruiters were more personal in their approach than those at other recruiting agencies. They seemed to have more of a personal interest in getting me the job I wanted. Orion took nearly all of the stress out of my post military job hunt. They made my military-to-civilian transition nearly seamless. My first call with the recruiter was probably the most useful phone conversation I have ever had!
