Field Engineer

Midwest
US Navy, E-6

I am sure everyone at Orion International has heard this several times, but the great amount of quality assistance they provide with job searches takes a huge burden from veterans’ shoulders during a stressful time of transition. I was in the Navy for 11 years as a submarine electrician's mate and began preparing for the job search process about a year before my separation. I prepared resumes for various careers and made sure all of my military benefits were in line.

I learned of Orion at a job conference at the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, but, at the time, I was already lined up for a position after the end of my service. After about a year at that position, I decided I wanted a different career and contacted Orion to see when the next hiring conference was and if there were job search possibilities in the meantime. My recruiter was Ernest Burson. Ernest and the rest of the Cincinnati team were very responsive and helpful in the job search process.

My job search process with Orion started in November, about a month before the hiring conference I attended. I had follow-up interviews in the days following the conference. The people at Orion were very helpful in the preparation at the hiring conference and in keeping me informed as the follow-up process began. My position will be a Field Engineer for electrical distribution systems. The position is very much what I was looking for and is an excellent translation of my experience in the military into a civilian job.
