Site Manager
South Central
US Army, O-2
I attended Wichita State University, where I graduated in 2000 with two undergraduate degrees; BBA in Finance and a BA in Spanish. I then attended William Carey University and completed my MBA. While I did my MBA at William Carey, I participated in the University of Southern Mississippi's ROTC program. I graduated from William Carey in 2004 and earned my commission.
In the military I held the rank of 1LT, which is the rank I hold today. I am in the Illinois Army National Guard and was deployed this past year to Iraq. In Iraq I was a Commander of a Forward Logistics Element. In the states, I am a platoon leader.
One of my Orion International recruiters was Todd Phillips. He definitely listened to me. I told him that I want to focus my job search closer to my home where I grew up, and he made that happen. He then did a battle hand-off to his counterpart, Bob Berkholz, in the Austin, Texas. Bob then invited me to a conference in Dallas.
The Orion staff conducts a thorough interview preparation. They hand out a sufficient amount of literature. Additionally, the group and one-on-one interviews are extremely helpful. I liked the call, crawl, walk, run type of training.
I will be the Site Manager for Suzlon Wind Energy in Oklahoma. I cannot wait to get started. This is exactly the position I have been hard wired for. I am familiar with this area of the country, as I have family that lives near here, and I have spent many summers in this general area.
I have pursued every angle in securing employment ranging from job fairs, personal networking, and federal/state/local government employment websites. Bar none, Orion is the best way to get real "face time" with decision making personnel from big name corporations. Good luck fellow JMOs!
