Integrated Supply Chain Supervisor

When is came time for me to separate from the Air Force, I stumbled across Orion International through an internet search for recruiting firms that placed military officers into Corporate America. I read through the information on their website, filled out an application, and quickly heard back from them. I am now three weeks into my job that I obtained through Orion, and I'm challenged every second. That's what I was looking for throughout the process. Without Orion being there to facilitate and get me in front of some interviewers, it's tough to say what I'd be up to now.

Originally, I met with an Orion recruiter on the East coast named Mike Wood who went through my credentials, talked to me about the process, and put me in touch with the West Coast team. From there, I worked with Katrina Phruksukarn all the way through the hiring conference, interviews, and the offer/acceptance process. In both cases, I felt that they were extremely interested in understanding what I was looking for and accommodating my requirements.

Due to very limited location requirements on my part, I was probably not the easiest recruit to place. Despite this, Katrina was very patient and worked hard to present me with a number of high quality opportunities, one of which turned out to be my current employer. What also impressed me was that even though I was no longer working directly with him, Mike kept in touch to see how I was doing and how the process was going. He even sent me a congratulatory email when I accepted my offer. In my experience, Orion was much more willing to work with my personal requirements than some other recruiting agencies. Obviously being location-constrained is a challenge, but Orion took on that challenge rather than trying to convince me to change my requirements. Additionally, Orion was much more responsive and did a better job of keeping in touch with me throughout the process. To me, this definitely shows that the folks I worked with at Orion truly cared about helping me achieve a successful transition from the military to civilian life.

I am now an Integrated Supply Chain Supervisor for Honeywell. I directly supervise 26 employees spanning Customer Service, Outsourcing, Rotable Asset Management, Order Entry, Invoicing, Shipping & Receiving. Having spent considerable time in the Air Force working in a production environment, this position has been a great fit for what I was looking for. I have a great job!
