Territory Manager
Midwest
US Army, E-6
I retired from the U.S. Army February 28, 2005, after 21 years of service as a Unit Supply Specialist/Asset Visibility Specialist, Staff Sergeant. My search for employment began in December 2005. I discovered Orion while browsing the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) website, searching for a job fair in my area. I contacted a recruiter on the Orion website for more information about an upcoming hiring conference in Dallas. The recruiter informed me however that particular hiring conference would not consist of employers seeking professionals in my area of expertise (Logistics Management). However, he reviewed my resume and referred me to another recruiter.
I was initially chosen to interview for the position of Warehouse Manager Trainee with Ferguson Enterprises. However, the interviewers felt I was overqualified for the position, but recognized the potential asset I might be for the company, and instead recommended me for the position of Territory Manager. After several interviews, via telephone and onsite at different facilities, I was offered the job. The position is just what I was searching for, and I began the training phase on March 7, 2006, at a facility in Georgia.
Throughout the process, Orion and its staff maintained constant communications with me, offering assistance every step of the way. The Account Executive for Ferguson even extended the courtesy of contacting me personally, regarding some questions and concerns that could not be answered by my recruiter.
Orion met my needs with professionalism and commitment. Orion was my first opportunity to use the services of a recruiting firm, and they successfully found me a new career, so that I did not need to turn anywhere else. I plan to recommend Orion to several acquaintances I have that will be departing the military ranks in the near future.
