Control Room Supervisor
Northeast
US Navy, O-3
Orion International is well known in military circles, so when it came to leave the Navy, where I was a Lieutenant, I submitted my personal information via Orion’s online registration. Transitioning from the military isn't easy to begin with, but Orion removed many of the hurdles which could have made it much more stressful. That was back in 2006, and I have worked with them throughout the last couple of years as my career needs changed.
I wasn't the easiest candidate to work with. I had relocation concerns, due to the fact that I own a house. That was a big hurdle to get over. Mike Wood understood my concerns and worked hand-in-hand with Entergy, my prospective employer, and myself to resolve them.
For the opportunity with Entergy, I worked with Mike. At first, I didn’t think the position exactly fit the mold based on the location restrictions I had. But Mike knew what a great opportunity this position represented and thought he would throw it out there. It turned out I was more than interested, and I was ready to make a move.
The hiring process included a run down on Entergy, as well as interview prep. I had an onsite interview, and I was up interviewing with Entergy in less than a week. Orion did a great job preparing me for the onsite interview. And their follow up was amazing. They went to great lengths to ensure my needs were met.
I was a Nuke officer in the Navy, and I was looking to get back into the nuclear power field. I've been hired as a future Control Room Supervisor. I like the stability/growth potential the field represents.
When I have worked with other recruiting agencies, I felt like I was not getting the answers I was looking for. That wasn't a concern with Orion. The customer service was excellent. Thanks for all of your help. I wouldn't hesitate to use Orion's services again.
