Developmental Store Manager

Northeast
US Marine Corps, O-4

I held the rank of Major in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as an Attack Helicopter Pilot and Flight Instructor. When I resigned from active duty in June 2007, I started searching for airline jobs. After I separated, I was hired by a regional airline in October 2007. It was not until April 2008 that I started looking of corporate opportunities.

Chris Hurst was my Orion International recruiter. He treated me very well. When I first made contact, I really was not in a position to start interviewing. Orion’s staff was very supportive and allowed me to control the pace. When I told Chris that I was ready for interviews, he started presenting me with opportunities.

I was scheduled for a hiring conference, but when another opportunity emerged that piqued my interest, I interviewed over the phone for it and was invited to a mini conference exclusively for that employer. I am now a Developmental Store Manager for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. When I read the job description, I knew it was the job for me. I started on October 6th, 2008.

Orion did a terrific job. They answered my questions about transitioning to corporate America, gave me sound guidance on resume preparation and interviewing skills, and presented me with job opportunities that met my needs professionally. I had spoken with other recruiting agencies in the past, and I think Orion is a top-notch outfit. From the moment I initiated contact with Orion, I knew they were going to support me and that I did not have to ‘audition’ for their support. Thanks again for your support!
