I enlisted in 1988 as a helicopter airframes mechanic and subsequently became a CH-46 Crew Chief. I was selected for a meritorious Officer’s commission after Desert Storm in 1991, and the Marine Corps sent me back to school in 2001 for 18 months to finish my degree. After commissioning, I flew the AV-8B Harrier for the remainder of my career. I went from a private to Lieutenant Colonel (select).

I was waiting to start an MBA program when I got in contact with Orion International and changed my career/life path after I interviewed with several firms at the Orion hiring conference in La Jolla, California. At Orion, I worked with JP Sniffen, Bill Fitzgerald, and Genna Clough for the most part. They were outstanding in every regard. I really felt prepared for each interview. The hiring conference was managed professionally and meticulously organized. I was provided a detailed itinerary of interviews and company briefs. In fact, I felt overly prepared and at ease during each interview due to JP’s coaching.

My hiring process with Orion began with phone conversations with JP and the others. I then attended a webinar pre-conference in preparation for hiring conference in La Jolla. From the hiring conference, I received follow-up offers from each firm I interviewed with post conference.

I will be a Business Unit Manger at CIRCOR and will supervise about 30 people and be responsible for an approximately $25 million dollar product line. My new position seems to be a perfect match for my skill sets. CIRCOR Aerospace appears to be on the brink of rapid expansion, which should open the door to upper-level management quickly.

My military transition was very easy and stress free. I would not have been exposed to the corporations with which I interviewed without Orion’s help. JP runs a great program. He has some exceptional people on his team who are willing to surpass the norm to help you succeed. I’ll definitely recommend Orion to my firm’s Human Resource division.
