Labor Relations Assistant

West
US Marine Corps,

After graduating from the Naval Academy in 2001, I became an Infantry Officer in the Marine Corps for seven years. I began searching for jobs to transition from the military when I was at my last duty station at the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, serving as an Inspecting/Executive Officer in December of 2007(six months before my end of active service). I heard about Orion International from a few colleagues who had transitioned out of my same job and used Orion to make it a successful one.

I originally worked with Stephanie Moser and then with JP Sniffen when I expressed my desire for employment on the West Coast. JP provided outstanding advice and support from the onset and continued to mentor and assist me all the way up until the acceptance phase of my new position with Pacific Maritime Association. All of my needs and desires were considered throughout the hiring conference preparation and execution process.

Of special note was Account Executive Jim Perdue, who actually worked with Pacific Maritime Association to get me the right job in a location the company was not even considering hiring people for initially. If it wasn't for Jim working diligently on my behalf to help secure my employment desires, I am confident this excellent employment opportunity would have passed me by.

I went through the entire process with Orion, initial resume writing and review (thanks to Genna Clough!), video conferencing prep, hiring conference prep, two days of initial interviews, and follow-up interviews with specific companies. JP and his associates knew I would only be in the United States for the week of the hiring conference and worked with all the companies who were interested in me to secure follow-up interviews in the San Diego/LA area within that week, so I could better develop my selection criteria for employment before returning to Germany.

It was due to Orion’s preparation in the interview/resume phase and their follow-through on my behalf even after I had returned to Germany that I was hired as a Labor Relations Assistant with Pacific Maritime Association. This is the job I was most excited about when I first arrived at the hiring conference, and I was very pleased at being offered the position in the exact geographical location I had originally wanted- the San Francisco Bay Area.

If I can give one piece of advice to the junior military officer wavering on a choice of which hiring firm to use.....go with Orion International! Not only can I personally attest to their quality and expertise, but so can many of my close friends who used them to achieve the same stellar results that I did. Thanks again for all the help and support!
