I was in the Navy for four years and was an E-4 or Petty Officer Third Class. I worked as an Avionics Tech. My military service ended on January 25th, 2009, and I began searching for jobs about a year from my EAOS. A friend of mine who got out of the military before I did got a job through Orion and recommended that I go to them.

Quang Truong was my recruiter. He was very motivated in helping me get into the motions of trying to find a civilian position. It’s a challenge, especially while you’re in the military, to start searching for a civilian position, but Quang made things easy by coaching me on my resume and my interview style.

First we focused my resume, and then I attended a hiring conference in San Diego. In this hiring conference, I was connected with my future employer, Hologic Inc. I am a Field Service Engineer, which is definitely a good match for me and utilizes the skills that I received in the military (electronics), as well as skills I had previously (computer hardware/software and customer service).

Orion exceeded my needs and expectations. I loved the military but knew it was not a career option for me. Many of the things I dreaded about searching for a civilian position were made very easy because of Orion.
