US Navy, E-5

I served in the US Navy for seven years where I was an Aviation Electronics Technician 2nd Class (AT2) when I separated in September 2008. However, my job search began in November 2008 when I started working with Orion. I learned of their services through a friend who got a job through them.

At Orion, I worked with Quang Truong, who gave me some pointers for the interview, and Jay Koranda, who negotiated on my behalf for my new position. They both treated me well with no pressure at all. I was very comfortable, and they always had answers to my questions.

Thanks to a December Orion hiring conference, I am going through a Field Service Apprentice program, which is a very good program. I will learn about the manufacturing of the equipment that I will be working on, then I will head to the classroom, and finally, I will receive on-the-job training. During my training, I will get all the certifications I will need to work anywhere in the US. After the training program, I will be assigned a specific area to cover as a Field Service Engineer.

At first, I was a bit scared about how my experience in the Navy would transfer over to the civilian side. But with an apprentice program like this one, I don’t think that I can go wrong. Thanks, Orion.
