Electrical Installer

Northeast
US Navy, E-6

I served in the Navy for a little over eight years and was an E-6 Nuclear qualified when I separated in March 2006. Four months later, I began my job search and heard about Orion through my TAP class and from others at my duty station. Along with working with Orion, I decided to use a civilian agency, as well. My recruiter with Orion made me feel like I was his only client, even though I knew that was not the case. He was very upfront with me unlike the civilian recruiter who did not even tell me he was actually a “recruiter” and was not upfront from day one.

I attended a hiring conference, which made me comfortable in my interviews, and came away with a few offers. Orion did NOT pressure me at all into any of these jobs. My recruiter was very helpful and helped me make the decision as to which job offer I should accept. I knew that John had no vested interest in any of the opportunities. It didn’t matter which job I took. In contrast, my civilian recruiter was actually rude to me when I turned his job offer down. I felt Orion really cared about what I wanted, and Orion was always all for me doing what was best for my family and me. I was glad to have someone looking out for my best interest. I recommend Orion to my friends who are transitioning out of the military every chance I get!
