Field Consultant Trainee

I spent eight months searching for a job on my own with no success, and, through Orion's coaching and support, I was able to get a job within one month.  And it's not just any job; it's one that fits my professional goals, fits my personality, and is at the managerial level I would have transitioned into had I stayed in the military.

I was a Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy and held the rank of Lieutenant.  Prior to starting my career at 7-Eleven as a Field Consultant trainee, I didn't realize how applicable the skills I learned in the military were to the business world.  I was extremely well prepared.

Part of my training program is to be a store manager for a month until I graduate to a Field Consultant.  Based on responsibilities, a store manager is comparable to a division officer in the Navy, while a Field Consultant is comparable to a Department Head.  Managing people, holding personnel accountable, following procedures, forecasting divisional requirements, and finding better ways to conduct business are all items I did in the military that parallel my new career.
 
My recruiter was JP Sniffen, and he went above and beyond to help me through the hiring process.  Not only did he ensure that I was thoroughly prepared for each interview, but he constantly followed up and provided encouragement.  I couldn't have had a better recruiter.
