Field Service Engineer

West
US Marine Corps, E-4

All of my transitioning colleagues in my unit in the Marine Corps found their civilian jobs through Orion International. It was tough to argue with that! In fact, I think that anyone who is getting out of the military and wants a job would be crazy not to go through Orion. The only peers of mine who left the military without jobs also happen to be the ones who did not go through Orion.

I am now a Field Service Engineer with Intuitive Surgical. Previously, I was an air traffic control Radar Technician as a Corporal (E-4). My background as a technician and as a Marine prepared me for my civilian careers as a Field Service Engineer, because it provided me with so many valuable technical and professional skills. My new position is also very similar to my former position in the military, because I will be maintaining equipment for my company, the same way I maintained radars in the Marines.

My Orion recruiter was Quang Truong. I felt that he really cared about getting me the best job possible. He didn't just want to get me a job—he wanted to get me the best one that fit my skill set. Every other hiring agency that I went through didn't even contact me back until months after I accepted my job offer. Orion blew the competition out of the water.
