Engineer

Midwest
US Air Force, O-2

I served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force where I worked in the Air Force Research Laboratory/Experimental Validation. I separated from the Air Force December 1, 2006, but began my job search in September. During my job search, I dealt with the whole team at Orion. And all of the recruiters made a team effort and projected a genuine attitude of service.

I went to two interviews in Chicago at an Orion hiring conference, which proved how flexible the Orion team is, as I could not attend the whole conference. Of those two interviews, neither was a perfect match, but one of the interviewers knew someone in his company that could use someone with my background in electrical engineering and put me in touch with him. After a phone interview and an onsite visit, they decided to make me an offer.

I was very impressed by the quality of the companies Orion introduced me to. There was a common focus on honest business practices, excellence, work/life balance, and contributing to the communities in which they reside. All of the information I have gotten through my personal contacts has only confirmed these attributes. I look forward to contributing to the Cummins Power Generation team.

Even though I was geographically limited, the Orion team was ready to do whatever they could to help place me in a job. They also did a great job of communicating with me. I had a member of the Orion team call me back to give feedback from the company after my onsite visit before I completed my two-and-a-half-hour drive home! Thank you for your help, Orion!
