Distribution Center Trainee
Midwest
US Army, E-4
I was enlisted in the Army for four years as a petroleum supply specialist. I got out of the Army and began searching for jobs in March 2006. My Orion recruiter was great; he helped me to fine tune my resume, called to give me information, and checked on me frequently. I spent a few days researching the job I was going to apply for, and my recruiter sent me an interview guide, as well as websites with information about the company. Then he set up a phone screening interview. About a week later, I had an interview in Denver for a position in a distribution center in Iowa.
I was hired for a training position and will train for six months to one year to become a distribution center operations manager. It is the type of job I was looking for, since I really wanted a job in management with a solid company. Ferguson is a Fortune 500 company, and once I have finished training I will be offered a management position at one of their distribution centers.
I was very pleased with the service I received from Orion. Just the fact that Orion found me whereas the competition did not says a lot about the company. Orion was very helpful and made it possible for me to get a job making more than the military was willing to pay to keep me enlisted. I would recommend Orion to anyone who is thinking of leaving the military to pursue a civilian career.
