Junior Account Representative
Southeast
US Marine Corps, O-2
A month before I was getting out of the Marine Corps where I was a Tank Officer, I heard about Orion from a friend of a friend and attended Mike Wood's seminar on Camp Lejeune. Shortly after, Mike and I began tweaking my resume, and I attended the Atlanta Job Conference in January 2012. Twelve days after I sat down and began writing my resume, I had a verbal offer from Caledonion Alloys as a Junior Account Representative. I started my new job two days before my contract with the Marines was up!
To my brothers currently transitioning out of the military: Let me just emphasize to you that your skills and experiences are very much sought after in the private sector, and companies are willing to pay top dollar for it! Unfortunately, this is not very well understood by many.
This is where Orion comes into the picture. They will close that information gap by pushing you leads, potential employers, set up interviews, etc. They will teach you about how marketable you can be in the labor market. Most importantly, however, Orion will teach you how to market yourself by matching your experiences to potential job opportunities, refining your resume building skills, and setting you up for success for the interview.
Once you land an offer (or multiple offers), Orion will then help you with salary negotiation, explain medical coverage, and help weigh offers against each other helping you to make an informed decision that best fits your career goals and personal needs. There is no doubt that my success during my extremely short amount of time on the job hunt can be directly attributed to Orion. Not to mention, all their time and effort did not cost me a dime. Why wouldn't you use Orion?
