Class C Mechanic

Northeast
US Navy, E-3

In the military, I served in the Navy as an Electronic Technician Communications, also known as Submarine Electronics Communication Field; and then I later served as a Machinist Mate. With my rare yet diverse background of holding both a Technician and Mechanic position, I became well equipped for the civilian workforce. And it just so happened that my experience as a Mechanic was exactly what I needed to enter this industry as a Class C Mechanic with TAMKO.

Both Dave Conner and Matt Clingon treated me with the utmost respect and kept me informed with all updates and information. They met and fully understood my needs due to my rare circumstance and guided my resume and teaching towards that.

I brought my wife to the hiring conference I attended, which greatly enhanced the outcome of my job interview with TAMKO. The reason I say that is because at the end of each day my wife would head back to our hotel room and go over the information and the notes that I written down. And, with her help, I mastered the STAR format Orion taught me. I also made sure that I was very positive and smiled. And, I kept in mind something Matt said: “Your resume only qualifies you for the interview, and once you get the interview your resume doesn’t get you the job, YOU GET THE JOB!!!”

I am very appreciative of what Orion had to offer to me. I would highly recommend that any veteran who wishes to transition from the military with ultimate satisfaction seek out Orion. Rather than fighting the employment battle and taking the chance of your resume screened out by employers, it is a lot smarter to use Orion as the liaison to interview directly with Hiring Managers while getting the necessary knowhow of how to succeed at the task at hand.
