Distribution Supervisor

I began looking for career about a year ago while I was deployed. I got in touch with Orion, and started speaking with Jim Freeze. He was awesome and remained in touch with me even when I was deployed. My needs were definitely considered in regards to positions I was interested in, and he was always quick to respond to any question I had.

I attended the Distinguished Candidate Conference in Philadelphia, where I interviewed with eight companies, with three of my top four requesting a second interview. The position I hold now is Distribution Supervisor with Best Buy. My military background prepared me for my civilian industry by showing me the importance of both confidence and public speaking. I was always solid tactically and operationally, but the difference between an average leader and good to great leader is how well you handle yourself in front of a group. College really didn't prepare me for the amount of public speaking the civilian sector demands in a managerial role, so I am grateful I got the opportunity to spend some time in the military to better myself in this skill.

When I started my job search I was working with Orion and a competitor. I did not get the attention with Orion’s competitor that I got with Orion, and that definitely left an impression on me. Even when I had a few months left on my deployment, Orion was interested in my needs and what they could do to help me in my search. Orion greatly exceeded my needs.

I have told everyone I know about Orion who is looking to move on from their military career and transition to a civilian life. Orion wants you to get a job as much as you want to get a job. If you listen to what Orion has to say and follow their preparation process, you will find success!
