I started job searching again in April 2007 after having worked for civilian employers from 2000 to the present. Previously, I held a rank of Major in the Air Force when I separated in 2000. As part of my job search, I attended a MilitaryStars career expo in early May 2007, where I left my resume at the Orion International booth. JP Sniffen then contacted me from Orion and began to send me potential job opportunities. I attended the San Diego hiring conference and interviewed with eight potential employers. From those interviews, I was offered a couple of follow-up, on-site interviews. I then landed a position with Aero Precision, where I will be heading up the Taiwan Sales Division. This is exactly the type of job I've been looking for…a perfect match!
Compared to my past job search experience with other military recruiters, Orion International's operation was highly organized and well orchestrated. I feel I had plenty of assistance to prepare for the "getting-to-know-you" interviews at the hiring conference. I particularly enjoyed meeting with potential employers who are open-minded and willing to discover unpolished gems hidden in the military community. I've been treated extraordinarily well by JP and the rest of the Orion staff. Everyone was very professional and extremely helpful.
