Assistant Property Manager
Southeast
US Army, O-3
When my wife and I made the decision to transition out of the military, I was overwhelmed with everything that had to take place in order to find a job in the civilian side. A friend recommended I talk to the guys at Orion and that put me in touch with Todd Phillips.
Throughout this entire process, Todd and the rest of the Orion team have been there to help set me up for success as I worked through transitioning from the military to civilian life. From resumes to interview prep, Orion was there to assist me. I had the chance to interview with a company in West Virginia, as well as attend one of the hiring conferences in Cincinnati. Knowing that I wanted to be near my hometown of Louisville, KY, Todd made sure that the companies I was put in front of were not only a good fit from a job perspective but also from a geographical one.
At the hiring conference in Cincinnati, I interviewed with four different companies. All four provided opportunities that I was very interested in, and I was fortunate enough to receive follow-up interviews with each. Throughout this process, the company that stood out to me was a commercial real estate firm named Hines Interest that had an opportunity available in Louisville. After further rounds of interviews, I received a job offer from Hines to become the Assistant Property Manager of a 35 story commercial building in downtown Louisville. I took this position, and I see a bright future in this industry and with this company.
My transition from active duty Marine to retirement was completely stress-free. Thanks to Orion and especially Todd, I had a great job waiting for me as soon as I started my terminal leave.
