Project Engineer

I told my recruiter, Tim Duba, what I wanted, what I felt I was qualified for, and he listened. He presented opportunities that were of genuine interest to me and talked me into attending a hiring conference, which paid off. Prior to every conference, I was presented with a list of companies my recruiter thought were a good fit, then I could pick and choose which ones I actually wanted to go through with.

I have been a Platoon leader, Unit Movement Officer, and Lift and Sustainment Officer. Currently, I'm the XO for the 578th ENG HHC, out of Manhattan Beach in the National Guard. I now hold a Project Engineer position with Gray Construction. My new career as a Project Engineer in the Construction industry parallels my new career in that I manage some construction and deconstruction projects in the National Guard and my new employer wanted someone with and engineer background and leadership experience. I fit the bill.

I think the most important part of the process was that Tim took a personal interest in me. He treated me like a person, knew me personally, and always kept me engaged with interviews and different opportunities. I wasn't just another number on a list.
