Senior Project Engineer

Southeast
US Army, O-4

I held numerous positions from PLT LDR to BDE Operations Officer, which is what I did prior to retirement. I retired as an Infantry MAJ. My military background prepared me to work in a round the clock, dirty, time sensitive environment, and I fit in very well here at GP. I am a Senior Project Engineer, and my job now is exactly like my job as a BDE Operations Officer, except rather than planning and pulling together military operations, I am planning and pulling together engineering operations and solutions. I'm still solving problems.

Orion was the first out of the gate and left everyone else in the dust. I was pushing hard in my job search because I had impossible expectations and Orion nearly met the impossible dream. My goal was to be able to start work while on terminal leave, not have a dip in income, and not have to move. Orion got the first two with no problem, and I now know that getting all three was impossible. No one else could have. If you want someone who is as mission focused as you are, go with Orion.

With Orion, I did one hiring conference, which gave me the interview skills that I needed to be successful in subsequent targeted interviews. And credit goes to Marin Jakawich for giving her personal time to rework my resume and teach an old Army guy how to interview correctly. I also want to give props to Ned Freeze for aggressively getting my resume into a job that was perfect for me when the company’s HR online system would have kicked me out for sure. I could not have been so successful in my job hunt without these two people. Everyone at Orion was fabulous, but these two went above and beyond.
