Title: Field Service Technician/Engineer – Lab Units

Location: San Jose, CA

Travel: Primarily local within the SF east bay area

Compensation: $80K - $90K+ annualized salary DOEQ

Position Details:

Field Service Technicians work in the field, traveling to customer locations to provide service, maintenance, and installation. They use their technical skills to troubleshoot issues when they arise to keep the customer’s equipment functioning properly. A Field Service Technician not only ensures the equipment is installed and working properly, but also manages customer relationships to boost customer retention and satisfaction, which ultimately boosts the company’s profitability.

We are looking for a self-starter Field Service Technician to deliver the desired customer service experience for our clients. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and ensures the customer / business relationship remains favorable. The Lab Units Technician is a mid -level position in the Water Purification Industry. At the company we strive to offer competitive pay and many additional benefits. We’ve got Kaiser Permanente medical. The person in this position will provide front line customer service for our customers. Customer service skills are paramount to success in this role. This role has several physically demanding requirements such as working in tight spaces, lifting, stooping, squatting and requires repetitive movements.

Functions:

Installing or upgrading equipment maintained by the company in various field locations
Configuring lab unit line ups and component placement during and after installation
Performing routine maintenance on technology equipment
Testing equipment to troubleshoot the issues
Documenting installation, service, and repairs
Maintaining all tools and equipment used during service calls
Teaching customers how to use the equipment properly
Managing the stock of replacement parts and equipment Ability to work in small spaces
The agility to maneuver in and around in a small lab room environment
Discuss potential issues with customers in a manner that keeps them informed
Strong desire to be successful in the field service role
Produce timely and detailed service reports
Operate vehicle in a safe manner and maintain an excellent driving record
Learn and maintain proficiency of the Customer Relations Management Program
Follow all company’s procedures and protocols
Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
Must perform all other duties assigned by supervisors and managers unless doing so would violate company policy or local law requirements
Perform water analysis using instruments provided by the company
Must be able to obtain forklift certification for operation in company's warehouse
Education, Skills, and Abilities:

Navy Nuclear ELT or related work experience preferred
Proven ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment with minimal supervision
Expect to be technically questioned and put through a verbal and hands-on practical test demonstrating competency (they want actual performers lip service technicians)
Be prepared to provide and discuss technical examples that you have specifically performed
Excellent judgment in customer relations and managing company resources
Exhibit high level of critical thinking ability
Customer-oriented and strong interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules, we can work with some school schedules
Strong desire to learn new skills and achieve results
