Position Description:

The Medical Device Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance and servicing of medical equipment in accordance with the company's established protocols and policies. Additionally, this position could serve as a backup support for warehouse operations, distribution, and delivery tasks.

Perform necessary service and maintenance of medical devices, adhering to quality systems and standard operating procedures.
Record and document service and maintenance activities for devices and products.
Provide support to warehouse and distribution operations as required, which may include physical inventory counts, route planning, route preparation, and making deliveries.
Maintain test equipment utilizing the calibration process.
Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions and technical issues.
Develop and implement solutions to ensure the equipment's proper functionality.
Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs to maintain the highest level of equipment reliability and patient safety
Minimal travel to support operations activities at medical facilities (5%)

Requirements:
2+ years of electronics/electro-mechanical repair working in a technician role
Proficiency with office software and ERP software (SAP or similar) within service/equipment modules
Ability to read and understand pertinent training documentation and procedures
Possess a clean driver record

Position Description: Responsibilities include:
• Monitor and control all aspects of equipment repair within the Chicago area.
• Inspect chassis and write work orders at specified facilities.
• Monitor and control M&R costs for chassis for same locations.
• Monitor and control OOS equipment levels including Repair Estimate Approval/Repair Limit compliance.
• Update chassis OOS status and notes as needed in M&R System
• Conduct daily visits to specified local CYs to ensure that all M&R issues are addressed, and that Company Policies are enforced. Provide detailed written reports of any problems to the CY Manager.
• Assist locations in continuously investigating ways and means to reduce overall M&R costs.

Field Service Engineers calibrate equipment to relevant standards and procedures, train all current test methods, evaluate the result of the reasonableness test and train customers on the operation and software of company machines. The Field Service Engineer will also work on project management, serve as leadership on relocation jobs and large Installation, prepare written reports of calibration results according to ISO/IEC 17025 and support customers and other personnel with technical advice when required. Troubleshooting electronic & electromechanical devices from schematics and mechanical drawings is expected.

Requirements/ Relevant Experience:
4 + years troubleshooting high voltage electrical + hydraulic
Technical metrology or prior calibration experience is preferred. Experience with universal destructive testing machines and extensometers is also preferred but not required.
Preferred Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline
