Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Indianapolis, IN area
Shift: Dayshift
Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 Base Salary + Sign on bonus

Travel: This is a high-travel field service role. Up to 80%.

As Field Service Engineer you will report directly to the Service Manager and provide technical support for company material testing machines. This position directly interfaces with customers by installating, Servicing, and repairing simple and specialized company systems. Examples include but are not limited to: Automation, Robotest systems, Programming Auto Edition, Dropweight towers, Complex Medical equipment i.e., Catheter systems, Auto-Injectors, Torsion systems, and Temperature Chambers. Field Service Engineers calibrate equipment to relevant standards and procedures, train all current test methods, evaluate the result of the reasonableness test and train customers on the operation and software of Company machines. The Field Service Engineer will also work on project management, serve as leadership on relocation jobs and large Installation, prepare written reports of calibration results according to ISO/IEC 17025 and support customers and other personnel with technical advice when required. Troubleshooting electronic & electromechanical devices from schematics and mechanical drawings is expected.

Requirements/ Relevant Experience:
4 + years troubleshooting high voltage electrical + hydraulic
Technical metrology or prior calibration experience is preferred. Experience with universal destructive testing machines and extensometers is also preferred but not required.
Preferred Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline

Service Technicians are responsible for diagnosing issues and performing standard general repairs on drive-train components, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on company and/or customers’ heavy equipment across shop and field settings while adhering to all safety regulations and contributing to a positive work environment.

Requirements:
- General knowledge, ability to diagnose, and capable of repairing of complex hydraulic, electrical, and drive-train systems
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interrupt technical information from general hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Technical school graduate or experience with Volvo construction equipment preferred
- Must possess and maintain acceptable safe driving record and pass DOT Medical Certification

Qualified military candidates will be skilled in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in an industrial environment, exhibit strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, be a team player, and enjoy traveling. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer focus are also critical.
Requirements:
• Technical Trade School or Associates degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 1-year of experience in an industrial setting
• 4-years electrical or mechanical engineering / maintenance experience in an industrial environment in-lieu of a degree
• Experience with PLC logic and/or CNC systems is required
• Experience with reading electrical, wiring diagram and proximity switches is required
• Experience in an electrically based industrial role with a strong mechanical background is preferred, but recent graduates are also eligible and encouraged to apply
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting aptitude
• Solid hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical tools
• Self starter with demonstrated ability to work efficiently with little supervision
• Field service or traveling experience desired
• Located within 1 hour of an international airport
• Willing to travel for extended periods with short notice including weekend work
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite

Shift: Mon-Thurs, 10-hour shifts + Friday overtime as needed

Compensation: $35-40 per hour

Position Description: The Electrical Assembly Lead Technician will work with various electrical and mechanical components to test, troubleshoot, and repair cable and electro-mechanical assemblies. This role will evaluate cable assembly electrical and physical characteristics, develop procedures for the manufacture and test of cable assemblies, perform basic programming skills for panel meters, and complete final inspections to maintain quality. The Technician will also work with building wire harnesses and break down complex drawings into sub-assemblies and prepare it for an operator.

Experience: The candidate for this role should have 3-5 years’ experience of soldering, understand complex electronic drawings/schematics and BOMs, be proficient in the use of crimp/hand tools related to cable/harnesses, have experience with resistance and Hipot testing, and be familiar with Ohm’s law. Experience with building wire harnesses and reading schematics related to cable and electro-mechanical assemblies is a necessity to do this job successfully. They should also be an organized problem solver, have experience with automated equipment, and be able to work alongside other technicians. Experience managing a team, working with Cirris Tester, and a J-Std-001 certification are a plus.
